4.1 Release Notes
1. New Features
1.1 AMP now installs on Cent OS
AMP 4.1 and later will now install on Cent OS 4.2 Operating System. Airwave will be phasing out
support to Red hat 8/9 soon. AMP 4.1 will be the last supported release for Red Hat 8 and 9 versions.
Please contact AirWave support if you need instructions on migrating to Cent OS 4.2.
1.2 Folder Support
AMP now implements folders to help customers group access points for monitoring purposes. The AP-
>All, Up and Down pages have been redesigned to accommodate folders. On upgrading to this version
all APs will be placed into the “Top” folder. Customers can create the folder hierarchy and place APs in
the relevant folders as needed with the option “Modify These Devices”. Please note that the AP->All
page has been renamed to AP->List page. Customers who wish to see the AP->All view as before can
do by selecting the “Expand All Folders” link at the top.
1.3 Support for Cisco 1242
AMP now supports management and monitoring of the Cisco 1242 access point. Following features are
supported
SNMP and HTTP discovery
Configuration of radio parameters like channel, transmit power etc
Support of security settings like wep, 802.1x, wpa, vlans etc
SNMP monitoring of user statistics, AP radio bandwidth
Advanced Group Configuration
Support for configuration via ssh, scp
1.4 New Reports
AMP now supports three new reports: Configuration Audit, New User Report and New Rogue Devices.
The Configuration Audit Report lists all the devices and their mismatches similar to the format of the
AP->Detail currently on the AMP. The New User Report lists all the client macs which were first seen in
the time interval specified on the report. The New Rogue Devices Report lists all the rogues discovered
in the time interval between the start and end time of the report. These reports are generated during
nightly maintenance. Also, these reports can be emailed, scheduled and exported into Microsoft Excel.
