Installing C2RPS-CHAS8 into the Rack

3. PullthePSMoutandremoveitfromthechassis.
4. Repeatsteps1through3foreachadditionalPSMyouplantoremove.
ToinstallaPSM,proceedasfollows:
1. AlignthePSMwiththeslot,thenslidethePSMforwarduntilitsfrontpanelisflush
againstthechassisfrontpanel.
2. FastenthePSMtothechassisusingthecaptive
screws.
3. Performsteps1and2foreachPSMbeingreplaced.Whencompleted,proceedto
ConnectingthePSMCablesandACPowerCordsonpage 26.
Installing C2RPS-CHAS8 into the Rack
Toinstallthe chassisintoa19inchrack,youneedtenusersuppliedscrewstofastenthe
chassistotherackrails.
AfterinstallingthePSM(s)asdescribedbackinInstallingC2RPSPSMsonpage 22,
rackmountthechassisasfollows:
1. Refertotheinstallationguidelines(“Guidelinesfor
RackmountInstallationon
page 24).
2. Installthechassisintotherack(“Rack MountingtheChassisonpage 25).
3. ConnectthePSMcablesandACpowercords(“ConnectingthePSMCablesandAC
PowerCordsonpage 26).
Guidelines for Rackmount Installation
Theinstallationsitemustbewithinreachofthenetworkcablingandmeetthe
requirementslistedbelow:
•Chassisplacementcloseenoughtoconnectthe2meter(6.6foot)PSMcablesfromthe
PSMstotheACpowersource.
•Uptoeightthreeprongedpowerreceptaclescapableofdeliveringthecurrentand
voltage
specifiedinC2RPSPSMSpecificationsonpage A2.UptoeightACoutlets
onindependentlyfusedcircuitsmustbewithin182 centimeters(6 feet)fromthe
installationsite.IfthereisanACpowersourcefailure,thiswillpreventthepowering
downofPSMsduetoasinglesourcepowerfailure.
•Power
cordsandtypeofoutletaredependentonthecountry.IntheUnitedStates,
onepowercordwithanNEMA515PplugisprovidedwitheachC2RPSPSM.
Note: If you plan to remove and not replace a C2RPS-PSM, immediately reinstall
coverplates over any empty power supply slots to prevent EMI leakage from the chassis.
