Usethecreatecommandtocreatealoadgroupwithaspecifiedtype.Aftercreatingaloadgroup,
youmustassignaradioandaWLANtotheloadgroup.Seeassign‐radioandassign‐wlan.
The
createcommandisaccessiblefromtheap:load‐groupscontextoftheCLI.

Parameters
Usage
Aradiotypeloadgroupcanperformbandpreferencesteeringandloadcontrol.Bandpreference
steeringisamechanismtomove11a‐capableclientstothe11aradioontheAP,relieving
congestiononthe11gradio.Nobalancingisdonebetweenthe11aand11gradios.Loadcontrol
allowsyou
toconfigurethemaximumnumberofclients allowedperradio ontheAP.Loadcontrol
isdisabledbydefault.Aradioloadgroupexecutesbandpreferencesteeringand/orloadcontrol
acrosstheradiosoneachAPinthegroup.EachAPbalancesinisolationfromtheotherAPs,but
all
APsinthegrouphavethe sameconfigurationrelatedtobandpreferenceandloadcontrol.
AclienttypeofloadgroupperformsloadbalancingbasedonthenumberofclientsacrossallAPs
inthegroupandonlyfortheWLANsassignedtothegroup.Thisisdifferentfromloadcontrol
in
theradiotypegroup—loadcontrolAPsmakedecisionsinisolationfromeachother
Thenumberofloadgroupsyoucancreateisdependentonthecontrolleryouareconfiguring.
